Planetarium, Italy, 19th century, with paper label Dono Semigratuito, del Secolo, 1 1/2-inch terrestrial globe and rotating sun and moon discs at the centre of paper-covered red-painted metal sphere with intersecting colures and rings representing the poles, the tropics of Cancer and of Capricorn, in horizon ring callibrated in days of the month and houses of the Zodiac, on baluster-turned ebonized column to circular base, ht. approx. 17 in., (metal fatigue, various paper losses, in need of restoration).
