Lacquered-Brass Compound Microscope by Ernst Leitz, No. (on foot and case) 19889, with rack-and-pinion coarse focusing, fine focusing wheel on the pillar, triple nosepiece-changer, rotating circular stage with mechanical substage condenser and plano-concave mirror, on U-foot engraved E. Leitz, Wetzlar, ht. closed 11 in., in walnut case (top chipped) with quarter-sawn door, maker's magnification table dated 13 / 7 / 1897, four eyepieces and three E. Leitz objectives (2, 4 and 7) in marked cannisters, (good original condition).
