French Bisque Swivel Neck Lady Doll, c. 1870, possibly Gaultier, light blue lined stationary eyes with narrow cut, closed mouth, light outlining, pierced ears, even coloring with pink cheeks (one very tiny black spot on cheek),impressed 3 back of head and on each shoulder, original blonde mohair wig with bun over cork pate, cloth body and legs, kid arms and hands with separately stitched fingers, in original black taffeta costume with black velvet trim, rows of pleating and corded detail, three rows of covered buttons down the back, one working and two decorative, layers of original undergarments, white stockings and red kid leather heeled slip-on shoes marked JJ on soles, ht. 15 in.
