Description:

Louis XVI Musical Organ Clock Base, with twelve-key fusee barrel organ movement, two ranks of twenty-four metal pipes, clock-activated stop / start detent and manual pull-push lever for play / silence, in architectural white-marble and ormolu case with rear door for accessing the mechanism, reeded pilasters alternating with pierced panels, a central window with acanthus-molded corner spandrels, stepped pediment with scrolling ormolu frieze, sun medallion and lower-plinth with bun feet and engine-turned frieze flanking relief of putti at play, total wd. 18 in., would fit wd. 16 in., the barrel 9 1/4 x 3 1/2 in., (non-sounding).
