Lifesize Black Leaflet Distributor Advertising Automaton by J.A.F, circa 1925, with papier-mache head, smiling mouth, upturned nose, articulated brown glass eyes, eyebrows and lower lip, the right arm articulated at the wrist and shoulder, the left hand with articulated wrist holding oak leaflet box, the electric motor and pump in the body causing the figure to turn and nod his head, look from left to right, raise his eyebrows and smile, while his right hand takes a leaflet from the box and offers it to the customer in a smooth sweeping motion, dressed as a bell-boy in red felt double-breasted costume, matching hat and black leather shoes, on circular Art-Deco mahogany base, ht. 58 in.
