George V Silver Doggett's Badge, London, 1826, makers' mark MR CR, oval, chased and embossed with a leaping horse, with banner of liberty above, and banner engraved "The Gift of Mr. Thomas Doggett, the Late Famous Comedian, 1826" below, with laurel rim, lg. 7 1/2 in., approx. 9 troy oz.

Note: Award for the scullers race called The Doggett's Coat and Badge race, which was awarded yearly under the will of Thomas Doggett in commemoration of George I's accession to the throne in 1714.
