Charles II Silver Tankard, London, c. 1680, maker's mark R with pellet below, possibly Alexander Roode, cylindrical, with cast ear handle topped by acanthus, reeded rims, flat lid with bifurcate volute thumbpiece, lid chased and embossed with central eight pointed star on curved acanthus leaves, base of body chased and embossed with acanthus and leaf tip, date marked rubbed, ht. 6 5/8 in., approx. 23 troy oz.
