Attributed to Thomas Willis (American, 1850-1912)

Portrait of the American Steam Yacht "LINTA." Unsigned. Oil on canvas with velvet and silk applications, 15 3/4 x 26 in., in a carved oak frame with gilt liner. Condition: Very good.

Note: The Steam yacht Linta was built in 1905 at Morris Heights, New York, as a civilian pleasure craft. She was owned by Walter Luttgen. Two years later she was acquired by the Navy and served in WWI as a patrol and escort vessel in the New York City area. She was decommissioned in 1919 and returned to her owner.

Very good condition, all stitching intact, paint is very good some fading to the red in the flags.
