Nickel-plated Brass Hitchcock Mechanical Draft Lamp, patented by Robert Hitchcock, Watertown, New York, 1868, the kerosene-burning lamp with flat wick burner designed to burn without a chimney, with axial fan, clockwork assembly, integral winding key and spring-driven blower in base to provide draft, burner deflector imprinted with maker's marks and patents, font with metal label impressed "PATENTED NOV 30, 1880, ROBt HITCHCOCK WATERTOWN N.Y.," ht. 12 1/4 in.
