Description:

Needlework Sampler, "Hannah Pearson Born In July The 15 1770," worked in silk threads on a linen ground with alphabet rows above a heart border over a verse "It Is Good For Me To Draw Near Unto God," and "This Finished in may 30 1785," over a panel depicting two parrots flanking a basket of flowers, a bird, and flowers, all enclosed in a sawtooth border, (fading, toning), 15 1/2 x 9 3/8 in., in a molded giltwood frame.

Note: A genealogy search records there was a Hannah Pearson born about 1770 in Hopkinton, New Hampshire.
