French/American and American School, 19th Century

Two Silhouette Portraits of Gentlemen. One signed "aug, Edouart, fecit 1844, 285 Broadway N.Y.K" l.l. Cut-out full-length paper figure of a gentleman holding his walking stick and top hat, applied to a white paper with a scenic printed background, sight size 10 1/2 x 6 3/4, framed. The other a cut-out paper full-length of a gentleman holding a top hat and walking stick applied to a white paper ground, inscribed "Angus Fletcher Esq. Sculptor 18th May 1831.," sight size 9 1/2 x 5 1/4 in., in a bird's-eye maple frame. Condition: Minor toning, stains, foxing.
