Classical Mahogany Carved and Mahogany Veneer Shelf Clock, Sylvester Clarke, Salem-Bridge, Connecticut, c. 1830, the crest of a carved eagle with outstretched wings clutching arrows atop a globe, above a half round molded egg and dart cornice above the glazed door opening to a polychrome and giltwood painted dial with seconds hand and eight day weight driven brass movement with rack and snail strike, flanked by engaged pilasters with Ionic capitals on molded plinths and acanthus leaf paw feet, refinished, (imperfections),ht. 31 1/2, ht 18 1/2, dp. 7 in.
