Italian Violin, Antonio and Hieronymus Amati, Cremona, c. 1630, labeled NICOLAUS AMATUS CREMONEN HIERONYMI, FILI AC ANTONIJ NEPOS FECIT 1645, the one-piece back of irregular light curl, the ribs of narrow curl, the scroll of light medium curl, the top of fine grain, the varnish of a golden brown color, length of back 13 7/8 in., 353 mm, with case.
