John Taylor Arms (American, 1887-1953)

Lot of Three Works: Portrait of a Romanesque Capital, 1946; the original pencil sketch, the etched printing plate, and a trial impression annotated "Trial XI iv" (Fletcher, 397). The sketch and proof signed and dated "John Taylor Arms 1946" in pencil l.r., all titled within the image, the plate and proof monogrammed within the image. Plate/image sizes 2 5/8 x 2 5/8 in. (6.7 x 6.7 cm), framed.
Condition: Not examined out of frames.

Provenance: The estate of Ernest Hillman, Jr., Fairfield, Connecticut.
