Petersen 1888" l.r., oil on canvas, depicting the three-masted vessel identified on the stern, pennant, and inscriptions below, flying an American flag in coastal waters, (minor craquelure), 22 5/8 x 33 7/8 in., in a gilt gesso frame; a bust-length portrait of Captain Edward C. Palmer, unsigned, oil on canvas, 25 3/4 x 20 3/4 in., in an oval gilt gesso frame; a dark blue painted wooden sea chest containing an account book/ship's log with entries from the voyage of the Bark Annie Hodgman beginning July 12, 1869 and ending December 9, 1869; a brass spy glass; and several maps, chest ht. 15 1/2, lg. 49, dp. 15 1/2 in.
