Early French Bisque Lady Doll with Flanged Locking-Neck Mechanism, c. 1870, cobalt blue stationary eyes, closed pert mouth, delicately feathered eyebrows, smooth pale overall coloring with rosy cheeks, flat unpierced ears, blonde mohair wig, flange neck turns on shoulderplate from side to side and stops at natural points, recent attribution bases this stopping design on an 1861 Huret patent, produced by Francois Gaultier, impressed F. 1 G. on back shoulderplate, ungusseted kid body, stitched fingers, period green silk taffeta striped evening dress with crystals (frail, no sleeves), original stockings, ht. 13 1/2 in.
