English Victorian Silver Presentation Ewer, Sheffield, 1854, Martin Hall & Co., makers, ovoid body with slender neck and short spout, on small trumpet foot, loop handle, chased and embossed all over with floral sprays in C-scroll frames, with pendant fruit swags and leaves, neck chased and embosed with beaded cartouches, hinged lid lacking finial, with central cartouche engraved with inscription from the Officers of the Duke of Lancaster's own Rifle Regiment of Militia, to a Sergeant Major James Mills, dated 1st March 1856, ht. 13 in., approx. 25 troy oz.
