Spiller & Blackburn 2.Note: Based upon the lukewarm response to his first novel, Precaution: A Novel, Cooper's publishers felt it prudent to only produce a small quantity of books for his second novel, The Spy. Quickly selling out in December of 1821, a second edition was printed in early 1822.
