New York Silver Covered Sugar, marked for Ball, Tompkins & Black, and Charters, Cann & Dunn, mid 19th century, melon shaped, chased and embossed with acanthus cartouches enclosing foliate swags and diapering, domed lid with melon-form finials, with cast grape vine handles, on four openwork shell and anthemion feet, monogrammed, ht. 7 in., approx. 18 troy oz.
