Federal Cherry and Flame Birch Veneer Inlaid Lady's Desk, New Hampshire, c. 1800, the hinged cove-molded top opens to a shallow compartment above a frieze outlined with stringing and a central diamond device centered over a door of flame birch surrounded by crossbanded mahogany veneer flanked by tambour doors opening on the left to two drawers above two open compartments and on the right a single compartment flanked by raised inlaid columns over a lined writing surface and four graduated drawers with banding and stringing on a central drop flame birch veneer panel and shaped flaring French feet joined to shaped sides, original brass, old refinish, (very minor imperfections),ht.50, wd. 39, dp. 19 1/4 in.
