Southwest Classic Man's Wearing Blanket, Navajo, third quarter 19th century, the "third phase" chief's blanket finely woven in handspun and raveled wool, in natural ivory, dark brown, deep indigo blue, light green (faded), and cochineal dyed (?) crimson, composed of alternating stripes overlaid by nine stepped diamond devices, (wear, fading, wool loss, old repairs), 72 x 56 in.
