Pearlware Quart Mug, Britain, c. 1800, banded in black, rust, and blue in a repeat pattern leaving only the foot in white, with an engine-turned series of vertical diamonds cut through the slip in small oval dots, the extruded handle with well-delineated foliate terminals, ht. 5 7/8 in. Provenance: Mr. & Mrs. Jerome Blum, Lisbon, Connecticut. Literature: Kitchen Ceramics, Slesin, Rozenstroich & Cliff, Abbeville Press, 1997.
