After W. Gray (American, active c. 1790) Old Court House, Salem, Mass. Inscribed "Painted by O.R. Fowler, Haverhill, Mass. from an old sketch by Wm Gray and Presented to Geo. F. Choate" verso. Oil on canvas, 15 3/4 x 22 3/4 in., gilt gesso frame. Condition: Lined, scattered retouch. N.B. W. Gray was the delineator of a view of the Court House, c. 1790, known through an engraving by James Hill of Charlestown, Massachusetts.
