Carved and Inlaid Wooden Writing Box, Portsmouth, New Hampshire, 1839, narrow rectangular box with sliding lid and lollipop handle, scribed and decorated with a heart, stars, diamonds and circles in ivory, dark and light wood inlays with tiny steel brads, initialed, FTG 1839, (two pieces of inlay missing),ht. 1 1/2 x 9 x 1 3/8 in.
