Early Jumeau Bisque Head B}b}, France, c. 1880, brown paperweight eyes (tiny eye fleck),closed mouth, pierced ears, impressed 5 at base of neck (faint hairline from right eyebrow to crown),cork plate, old brown mohair wig, jointed straight wrist composition body, stamped Jumeau Medaille d'Or (repainted arms, German legs),lavender-sprigged organdy dress, straw hat, ht. 16 1/2 in. Provenance: Letter from niece of original owner, who was born in 1874, accompanies doll and details family history in Amherst, New Hampshire.
