Chippendale Cherry Upholstered Open Armchair, Connecticut, 1765-75, the serpentine crest above upholstered arms joined to curving arm supports flanking a tight seat over square molded front legs joined by square stretchers to the raking rear legs, old refinish, (minor repairs), ht. 41, seat ht. 14 1/2 in. Provenance: M.T. Hazen of Hartford, Connecticut, owned this chair in the early 20th century, with subsequent family descent.
