Rookwood Iris Glaze Vase, decorated by Sara Sax, Cincinnati, Ohio, 1901, oviform vessel ending in a square base, decorated with a branch of salmon pink rose blossoms on a shaded gray-green and cream-colored glossy glaze ground, impressed Rookwood flame mark and artist's cipher, (fine crazing), ht. 7 3/4 in. 573.! Four Rookwood Pottery Items, Cincinnati, Ohio, including three iris glaze pieces, a squat form bowl decorated by Katherine van Horne, 1909, decorated with nasturtiums in matte salmon pink, gray-green, and cream-colored glaze; a matte glazed vase decorated by Mary Grace Denzler, 1914, conical form with band of budding branch decoration; a small pitcher decorated by Sara Sax, 1899, with lily of the valley decoration, glossy glaze; and a rectangular covered box, 1934, with molded decoration of scrolled foliate and animal motifs and a center medallion of a woman's head, all with impressed Rookwood flame mark and incised artist's initials, bowl ht. 3 1/4, pitcher ht. 5 1/4, vase ht. 8 in.
