Description:

Plains Beaded Hide Cradle, probably Cheyenne, c. 1880s, the buffalo hide form beaded with a classic Cheyenne pattern in white-center red, green, and dark blue beads on a white ground, the hide board attachments remaining on the back, the original tag reads "Crow Indian Baby cover from 'Spotted Tail' Crow Agency Montana Ter. May 30th 1888," lg. 31 in. Provenance: Collected on the Crow Reservation in the late 1880s.
