Kley + Hahn Bisque-Head Character Boy, Germany, early 20th century, blue painted eyes, sharp nose (light rub), closed smiling mouth, dimples, solid flat dome head impressed mark 520 9 (bisque at top back of head has thumb print-like marks, two red lines), fully jointed composition body, old light brown mohair wig, navy blue velvet boy's suit and hat, period black tie shoes, ht. 21 1/2 in. Literature: Jurgen and Marianne Cieslik, GERMAN DOLL ENCYCLOPEDIA 1800-1939, p. 15, indicates mold 520 was made by Bahr + Proschild for Kley + Hahn.
