Shaker Cogswell Family Correspondance, c. 1846-47, five letters written from Boston and Dorchester to Shaker Village in Pittsfield, Massachusetts and Pawtucket, Rhode Island, containing family and neighborhood news, and mention of the Mexican-American War and of Ship Fever, pen and ink on paper with postmarks and remnants of wax seals, sold together with a paperboard volume containing "The Sincere Convert" and "The Sound Believer" by Thomas Sheppard, 1812 edition, (letters with toning and scattered staining).
