Mihoko Wakabayashi was born and grew up in Japan and learned SAORI weaving while working for an alternative school in Tokyo. She opened up the first SAORI weaving studio in the U.S. in 2000 and has taught organizations and individuals alike. All of her work is improvisational and inspired by nature.
