Gail Hormats (Massachusetts), Anemone, 2008. Signed l.l. Watercolor, 12.5 x 15.5 in., framed.
By education a biochemist and by profession an internal auditor and data analyst, Gail Hormats is a self-taught abstract artist and jeweler. Her work finds expression in watercolors, acrylics, gel pens, oils, molten glass, beads, and metals. She prefers large sweeping expanses, but has worked contentedly on small, intimate landscapes that both are and are not representational.
Ms. Hormats has been creating most of her life and has been showing her art since the early 1990s.
