Marketing Manager, Marlborough, MA

About the role:
This individual will be responsible for all facets of the company’s digital and print marketing efforts, including the creation of a digital and print marketing strategy; managing its implementation; and measuring its success in heightening Skinner’s brand awareness in the marketplace, enhancing user experience, and growing the company’s base of consignors and buyers.

What you’ll do:
• Manage internal staff and vendor relationships
• Website: Work with IT team to increase website visits and conversion rates, manage and maintain website content, improve usability, design, and content. Continually review and improve SEO to drive organic traffic and monitor success.
• Email Marketing: Develop and manage email programs to increase the subscriber base and improve conversion rates.
• Advertising, Public Relations & Production: Work with stakeholders to develop marketing plans, strategies, and budgets with specialty departments. Coordinate highlights, track placements and manage media and PR inquiries with a PR team for digital and print. Implement and maintain a schedule of organic and paid web promotions.
• Social Media: Develop and oversee social media strategy to improve online presence and engagement.

Our ideal candidate:
Education and Experience
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in marketing, preferably within the antiques, arts or luxury goods field.
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, public relations, graphic design or related field

Skills and Abilities
• Strong creative, strategic, analytical and organizational skills
• Experience overseeing the design and production of web and print materials and content
• Graphic design background and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite
• Ability to write clear, eye-catching, and creative copy
• Strong working knowledge of SEM, SEO, and all major social media platforms

Front Desk Reception, Boston, MA

Skinner, New England’s leading auction house for antiques & fine art, seeks a receptionist for the Boston Gallery. She or he should be demonstrably highly organized and bring a dynamic skill set and a consistent work ethic to the job.

Responsibilities & Qualifications:

Primarily responsible for answering all incoming telephone calls, greeting and assisting clients in the lobby, maintaining a clean and orderly space in lobby including front desk, closet & preview rooms, managing emails to “contact us” email box, tracking client attendance numbers for previews, auctions & events and staffing lobby desk during regular business hours as well as during auction previews, special events, and auctions.

Other duties include processing catalog sales originating in Boston and submitting weekly catalog sales reports, dispositioning picked-up property in auction database, and inventory management. This position is responsible for closing up the gallery on a daily basis including accommodating occasional later hours for specialists on sale weeks as requested.

Excellent customer service skills both over the phone and in person

  • Ability to multi-task and to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with Cisco VoIP Call Manager a plus but willing to train the right candidate
  • Various weekend and evening hours required

Fine Wines & Rare Spirits Cellar Manager, Newton, MA

Skinner, New England’s only auction house to sell Fine Wines & Rare Spirits is seeking a responsible, highly organized and detail-oriented Cellar Manager with an interest in fine and rare bottles to work at our retail partner’s location in Newton, MA and occasionally the Marlborough and Boston galleries.

Responsibilities:

  • Cellar inventory management; managing a large inventory, packing, moving, binning, conditioning and photoing incoming inventory for five auctions a year and initiating inventory reviews on a quarterly basis.
  • Weekly administrative tasks; scheduling and assisting with pick-ups and drop-offs, reporting to and taking directives from department specialists, fielding and supervising inventory shipments, generating post-sale reports, and contributing to department meetings with inventory status reports. 
  • Auction assistance; estimating auction consignments, assisting on house calls, phone bidding and floor support at auctions and availability for tastings and events (some nights and weekends required).

Qualifications:

  • With five auctions a year, candidates must be capable of efficiently and effectively handling an ever-fluctuating liquor inventory, have an interest and knowledge in wine, a genial nature, and a willingness to learn as well as be extremely detail oriented, reliant, calm under pressure and a stickler for organization.
  • Willing and able to lift and move 40lbs boxes on a consistent basis.
  • Excel proficiency is a plus.
  • WSET or comparable certification a plus.
  • One’s own transportation is not required but strongly encouraged.

Warehouse Assistant, Marlborough, MA

Help load and unload trucks

Assist the Transportation Dept. as needed

Qualifications:

Must be able to lift minimum 80 lbs.
Flexibility in performing different tasks
Strong interpersonal skills
Occasional night and weekend work
High School diploma or equivalent

Salary: $12/hr.

Skinner, New England’s leading auction house for antiques & fine art, seeks a Transportation Assistant.

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities: Pick up and pack Property from our customers’ homes, storage facilities, museums, etc.; locate property in our warehouse for inventory, pack and load property onto trucks for delivery to our Boston Gallery; provide excellent customer service in a professional manner and problem solve in a timely manner.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate should have 1-2 years of related experience, but will train the right person; physical strength and stamina required as there is very heavy lifting involved; willingness to endure long days when necessary in order to get the job at hand finished; some night and weekend work and must be able to travel overnight as necessary; must be available to work auctions as requested.
