Pick Up

How to Pick Up Purchases

We ask that you pick up your purchases during business hours within three business days of the auction. We host auctions at two gallery locations, and regularly transfer large items sold in Boston back to our Marlborough gallery for storage. Please verify the location of your purchase before arriving to pick it up.

We are unable to transfer your items between our two galleries on request.

Items left unclaimed for more than three business days may be subject to additional storage and handling fees. See the Skinner Conditions of Sale for more details.

If a third party is picking up or packing and shipping your auction purchase, then you will need to provide Skinner with an Authorized Release Form. This form allows us to release your property to a shipping company or third party representative and protects both you and us from any possible misunderstandings when it comes to delivering your purchase safely and securely.

Boston Auctions

You may pick up purchases at the Boston Gallery during the auction or from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Following the auction, over-sized items such as furniture or room-sized carpets may be transferred to Marlborough for storage. Please call ahead to verify the location of your purchases. We are unable to transfer items between galleries on request.

Marlborough Auctions

All items sold at our Marlborough Gallery will remain in the Marlborough warehouse. You may pick up your items during the auction or from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Contact the Marlborough Gallery at 508-970-3209 to schedule a pick-up.

Fine Wine Auctions

All fine wines sold at Skinner auctions are available for release at our retail partner, Lower Falls Wine Co. in Newton Lower Falls, Massachusetts. Learn more about the collection of goods for fine wines and spirits here.

Shipping

How to Ship Purchases

We work with a group of shipping firms who provide our clients with swift, efficient, and economical services. Shipping is not included in purchases at Skinner auctions.*

View a List of Shipping Firms

For Skinner auction purchases, shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. You have the option to work with any independent shipper who meets your needs. These shipping firms pick up frequently at each Skinner gallery and have years of experience in safely transporting valuable antiques and fine art. Skinner assumes no responsibility of error or omission by any third party and Skinner does not recommend any one shipper over another.

In order to provide you with a quote, the shipper will need to know your name as listed on your invoice, the sale name, date, and lot numbers of your items, as well as general information about the type of items you need to ship. Payment for shipping services is due directly to the shipper.

Once arrangements have been made, you must fill out and submit an Authorized Release Form. Please include the shipping franchise location and the name of a contact at the store on your form. We will release your property to the shipper only after we have received this signed form and payment for your purchase.

Items left unclaimed for more than three business days may be subject to additional storage and handling fees. See the Skinner Conditions of Sale for more details. All packing, handling, and shipping is at the sole risk of the buyer. Skinner is not responsible for any loss or damage to items during packing and shipping. The buyer must pay in advance for all packaging expenses, including labor, materials, postage and carrier fees, and all insurance charges.

*Skinner offers shipping only for jewelry purchased at a Fine Jewelry auction in Boston and shipped within the United States.
