This Amoskeag Xtra Size 1 Steam Fire Engine was the top selling lot in Skinner's November 2001 Firefighting Memorabilia auction. The steamer sold for $23,000.

Built in 1905 for the town of Lynn, Massachusetts, this engine was originally horse-drawn and was converted to a motorized vehicle at some point, and then restored to a horse-drawn steamer.

It was discovered in the South in the 1980s, and was displayed for many years in the former Boston Woven Hose Company Factory building in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The steamer was most recently owned by the Boston Fire Museum. The steamer was purchased at auction by a private individual in N.H. who collects horse drawn vehicles.
