www.skinnerinc.com - Skinner, Inc., one of the nation’s leading auction houses for antiques and fine art will host a two-day Discovery auction on Wednesday, November 15th and Thursday, November 16th in its Bolton, Mass. gallery, conveniently located west of Boston off Route 495 on Route 117. The auction features over 1,000 lots including a wide selection of material culled from over 16 Skinner specialty departments. Highlights include a fine selection of clocks, timepieces, and clock parts.
Wednesday Evening Session
Wednesday’s session begins at 5 p.m. and features Discovery’s usual fare of fresh estate goods from the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries, including American and European furniture and decorative arts, Victoriana, Asian works of art, Arts & Crafts material, clocks, ceramics, pottery and porcelain, art glass, lamps and lighting, modern furniture, paintings and prints, plus a wide array of Oriental rugs and carpets.
Thursday Session
Thursday’s session begins at 10 a.m. Highlights include over 150 lots of clocks and parts including a complete 18th century tower clock, dated 1787 with dial and hands; a Howard Regulator, No. 20 marble gallery, No. 4 and Howard weight driven movements, Chelsea ship’s bell, Louis XVI and others, Waltham banjos and gallery movement, and Seth Thomas #2’s, ship’s bell and gallery clocks; weight-driven and Connecticut spring-powered movements and dials. Rounding out the sale will be more varied 18th, 19th and 20th century furniture and decorative arts.
