SKINNER HOSTS DISCOVERY AUCTION IN BOLTON OCTOBER 19TH & 20TH

BOLTON, Mass. - September 27, 2006

- www.skinnerinc.com - Skinner, Inc., one of the nation’s leading auction houses for antiques and fine art will host a two-day Discovery auction on Thursday, October 19th and Friday, October 20th in its Bolton, Mass. gallery, conveniently located west of Boston off Route 495 on Route 117. The October Discovery auction features 1,200 lots including over 200 lots of ephemera and a wide selection of material culled from over 16 Skinner specialty departments.

Thursday Evening Session

Thursday’s session begins at 5 p.m. features a wide selection of ephemera and collectibles including Alfred Hitchcock movie posters and other movie material, a collection of antique valentines, two sets of Alphonse Mucha postcards, a selection of Victorian chromolithograph scrapbooks, other paper and prints, sports collectibles, and examples of early photography.

Friday Session

Friday’s session begins at 10 a.m. Highlights include the Paul A. Kuhn collection of antique lighting, material from several New England estates. Also offered on Friday will be a large selection of paintings, prints, and works on paper. Rounding out the sale will be Discovery’s usual fare of fresh estate goods from the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries, including American and European furniture and decorative arts, Victoriana, Asian works of art, Arts & Crafts material, clocks, ceramics, art glass, lamps and lighting, modern furniture, plus a wide array of Oriental rugs and carpets.

Held monthly, Skinner’s Discovery auctions offer something for every buyer and seller, every taste and budget.
