www.skinnerinc.com - Skinner, Inc., one of the nation's leading auction houses for antiques and fine art will host a two-day Discovery auction on Thursday, August 24th at 5 p.m. and Friday, August 25th at 10 a.m. in its Bolton, Mass. gallery, conveniently located west of Boston off Route 495 on Route 117. The August Discovery auction features over 1,000 lots including over 200 lots of toys and dolls to be offered on Friday, and a wide selection of material culled from over 16 Skinner specialty departments.
Highlights of the auction, included in both the Thursday and Friday sessions, are several fine furniture examples including a Victorian Northwind carved oak dining table and chairs, a Hitchcock bedroom set, a selection of Baroque style dining furniture including a marble top side cabinet and console table. Additional highlights include a wide selection of paintings and prints, several 19th century coverlets and quilts, small Shaker items, ceramics, art pottery, art glass table lamps, American Indian and ethnographic items, a collection of carved and painted wooden bird figures, and over 25 lots of Oriental rugs and carpets.
