- www.skinnerinc.com - Skinner, Inc., one of the nation's leading auction houses for antiques and fine art will host a two-day Discovery auction on Thursday, March 16th and Friday, March 17th in its Bolton, Mass. gallery conveniently located off Route 495 on Route 117. The March Discovery auction features over 1,000 lots and highlights include estate jewelry, silver, textiles, and dog-related collectibles.

Held monthly, Skinner's Discovery auctions typically offer an eclectic mix of material from the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries, including American and European furniture and decorative arts, Victoriana, Asian works of art, Arts & Crafts material, ceramics, art glass, lamps and lighting, modern furniture, paintings, prints, and works on paper, plus a wide array of Oriental rugs and carpets. Thursday Evening Session


The Thursday evening session begins at 5 p.m. and features fresh offerings of Estate Jewelry and Silver. Jewelry highlights include over 300 lots of Victorian to Modern jewelry including gold, Mexican and Southwestern silver, diamond and hard stone items, men's dress articles, as well as costume pieces and other accessories. Silver in the sale includes over 100 lots of American, European and Asian silver and silver plated table wares and flatware, including Tiffany, Gorham, Towle, Wallace, British Georgian and later, and Persian silver.

Friday Session Highlights


Friday's session features Discovery's usual fare of fresh estate good from the 18th - 20th centuries. Notable offerings include a collection of mocha and spongeware, a group of 19th century miniature and children's wooden furniture, a wide array of textiles, including many fine quilts and coverlets, and a collection of dog related decorative articles including ceramic figures.
