SKINNER TO HOST HOLIDAY AUCTION IN BOLTON
Two-Day Auction to be Held in Three Sessions
BOLTON, Mass. - November 28, 2004 – www.skinnerinc.com - Skinner, one of the nation's leading auction houses, will host a two-day Holiday auction in Bolton on Thursday, December 9th and Friday, December 10th. Comprising approximately 1,600 lots, the event will be divided into a series of three sessions.
Session I: Jewelry
Session I begins on Thursday, December 9th at 12:00 p.m., and features over 300 lots of estate, vintage, and costume jewelry in a variety of designs. Diamonds, gemstones, platinum, gold, silver and silver-plated pieces, plus a selection of watches will be offered.
Session II: Toys & Dolls
Session II begins on Thursday December 9th at 2:00 p.m. and features over 800 lots of toys, dolls, and collectibles. Highlights of this session include the estate collection of Ann Marie Condron of Florida, two Massachusetts collections, plus selected offerings from various estates and collectors. Offerings include French and German bisque, cloth including Kathe Kruse and comic dolls, Schoenhut dolls and circus figures, Dewees Cochran, miniatures, Steiff animals, American composition and hard plastic dolls, and more. Toys, mechanical banks, Christmas items and miscellaneous paper and ephemera will also be offered.
Session III: Furniture & Decorative Arts
Session III, held on Friday, December 10th, beginning at 10:00 a.m., will feature Skinner's customary selection of Discovery offerings. An extensive array of 18th, 19th, and 20th century furniture, decorative arts, paintings, and rugs will be available in forms and styles that will appeal to a broad range of tastes. Stylistically and economically, there will be something to satisfy everyone. Remarks department director Kerry Shrives, "This sale offers something for everyone, in dozens of categories and in a variety of price ranges."
Previews and Catalogue Information
Previews for the auction will be held Wednesday, December 8th, from 2 to 5 p.m., Thursday, December 9th from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Friday, December 10th from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Illustrated catalog #2262 is available by mail from the Subscription Department at 978-779-6241 ext. 240, and is also available at the gallery. Prices realized will be available at www.skinnerinc.com during and after the sale.
