SKINNER DISCOVERY AUCTION MARCH 19TH

Featuring Silver and Jewelry, and the Estate of Victor F. Adams



BOLTON, Mass. -March 5, 2004 – www.skinnerinc.com - Skinner, one of the nation's leading auction houses, will host a Discovery auction in Bolton on Friday, March 19, 2004, at 10 a.m. Featured will be over 75 lots of American and European silver and silverplated hollowware, tablewares, personal accessories, and novelty items, combined with over 200 lots of period, vintage, and costume jewelry and accessories. The 700-lot furniture and decorative arts portion of the auction features material from the estate of Victor F. Adams.

The Estate of Victor F. Adams
Victor Adams was an Osterville, Massachusetts native who served as chairman of the Board of Selectmen of the town of Barnstable for 33 years. He was also a cranberry grower who served on the board of Ocean Spray Cranberries for many years. Offerings from the estate include an assortment of 19th century Cape Cod Country Americana, among other selections.

Additional Highlights
Eighteenth, nineteenth and twentieth century American furniture and decorative arts also will be featured in this Friday auction, as well as a generous assortment of paintings, prints, and works on paper. Highlights include country and formal furniture, custom furniture including the Beacon Hill Collection, Victoriana and a selection of Art Pottery.

Skinner holds Discovery auctions monthly. The next auction is scheduled for April 15 & 16, 2004.

Previews and Catalogue Information
Previews for the auction will be held Thursday, March 18th from 1 to 8 p.m., and Friday, March 19th from 8 to 9:30 a.m. The preview for jewelry and silver will continue until 1 p.m. A free PDF download of the printed catalogue for sale #2233 is available one week prior to the auction at Skinner's website atwww.skinnerinc.com; thumbnail images and descriptions for the auction may be viewed at the same site.
