BOLTON, Mass. - February 5, 2003 – www.skinnerinc.com - Skinner, Inc., one of the nation's leading auctioneers and appraisers of antiques and fine art, will hold a very special Discovery auction on Thursday, February 20th and Friday, February 21, 2003 in its Bolton, Mass. gallery. Featured is property from several interesting New England and New York collections, many of which come from estates. The two-day auction event includes over 1,000 lots and offers something for every level of collector, every taste and budget -- American, European, and Asian furniture and decorative arts, paintings, prints, sculpture, clocks, silver, pewter, tinware, ceramics, glass, china, Oriental rugs and carpets, and collectibles. The Thursday evening session is over 300 lots and begins at 7:00 p.m. Friday's session begins at 10:00 a.m.

Details of the collections for auction are as follows:

· The Pewter Collection Bernice Roberts-Blanckenburg, of California, features over 80 lots of American and European Pewter from the 18th & 19th centuries. Most notable are a Christopher Baldwin charger, Joseph Leddel plate, John Danforth mug and a covered cider pitcher.

· The Estate of Dr. Harwood Cummings, and his wife, Flores Cummings, of Greenfield, Massachusetts features period and custom furniture and decorative arts and accessories, Asian decorative arts, and several sliver and silver-plated pieces. Dr. Cummings was a well-known and prominent obstetrician, who over the years delivered more than 7,000 babies.

· The Tinware collection of Joan Rolfe, of Carlisle, Massachusetts will also be auctioned. Rolfe was a well-known tin decorator and her collection features over 75 fine examples of early American tin wares from the 18th and 19th centuries.

· Another interesting offering in the sale is a lifetime collection of butter molds from one New Hampshire collector. Interesting mold patterns include an eagle, swan, and a floral lollipop.

· Also offered is a selection of country antiques from a New York collector, including stoneware, furniture, baskets, quilts & other country furnishings.

· Property from a Cambridge, MA estate, including Victorian parlor furniture, flat top desks, and a Chippendale chest of drawers.
