First Growth Bordeaux Superlot Top Seller in Fine Wines Auction

Wine Superlot

Skinner Inc. is proud to announce stellar results from its most recent Fine Wines auction. The sale grossed nearly $1.5 million and featured the impressive 50 case ‘superlot’ of all five First Growth Bordeaux spanning the years 1995-2004 which sold for $320,000 (est. $200,000-300,000) and secured the top selling lot position.

According to Marie Keep, director of Fine Wines at Skinner,
“The Superlot was the center of gravity for the sale, generating excitement and momentum among buyers. Unlike anything we’ve seen before, the meticulous collection presented itself beautifully and buyers responded enthusiastically. The sale was one of the most well-rounded we’ve seen, drawing a large variety of buyers around the globe. With each sale, the Skinner Fine Wines department gains a stronger foothold among the industry both locally and globally and we are proud of the unique and impressive perspective Skinner buyers and consignors bring to this market.”

Skinner's Fine Wines department offers First Growth Bordeaux and other fine wines at auction in Boston twice each year. Fine Wines consignments are accepted year-round.
