Skinner’s February Discovery Auction to be held in Skinner’s New Gallery in Marlborough Mass.

BOLTON, Mass. – January 8, 2009 – www.skinnerinc.com – In January, Skinner, Inc., one of the nations leading auction houses, will host the very last auction in its long-time Bolton gallery: a two-day Discovery auction on Wednesday, January 21st and Thursday, January 22nd. Skinner’s Bolton gallery is located west of Boston off Route 495 on Route 117. The auction features over 1,200 lots including a wide selection of material culled from over 16 Skinner specialty departments and property from estates and institutions.
Skinner Discovery customers should take note that the February Discovery auction will be held in the auction house’s new gallery at 274 Cedar Hill Street in Marlborough, Massachusetts, just off the Simarano Drive exit, exit 23C, of Route 495.
Wednesday Evening Session
Wednesday’s session begins at 5 p.m. and numbers over 500 lots. Highlights include over 50 lots of Asian ceramics, netsuke, figures, and woodblock prints, as well as over 40 lots of Native American and Ethnographic material including pottery, rugs, Intuit carvings, beadwork, and wooden figures. The session concludes with Discovery’s usual fare of fresh estate goods from the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries.
Thursday Session
Thursday’s session begins at 10 a.m. and features a wide array of furniture and decorative arts including American, Victorian, Empire, European, Asian, and quality custom furniture, plus ceramics, art glass, pottery, lighting, clocks and timepieces, a wide selection of paintings and prints, and 50 lots of Oriental rugs and carpets.
