The Museum of Modern Art held an exhibit in 1951 titled “8 Automobiles” showcasing automobiles as functional art.  The Cord automobile was included in this exhibit as an example of streamline design and graceful functionality. The 1937 Cord Phaeton 812 offered in our Motor Vehicles auction designed by Gordon Miller Buehrig is by far one of the most interesting creations of the Art Deco period both visually and mechanically, not to mention that it was fast. Our goal is for you to consider your automobile as functional design. Other vehicles in this auction range from a 1969 Honda Dream motorcycle made famous by the Beach Boys, to decades of automobiles brought to us by Henry Ford who believed that a vehicle of good design and reliability should be available to all. Lovers of Packard, Cadillac and Mercedes Benz may find exactly what they are looking for in this auction of 20th Century Design featuring Motor Vehicles.
