This auction begins with a broad selection of works from old masters to the present day; featuring artists such as J.A.M. Whistler, Martin Lewis, and Pablo Picasso among others. Two of the top lots in the sale include an exciting portfolio by Salvador Dalí and suite by Sol LeWitt. A variety of modern works include prints by Vija Celmins, Frank Stella, Alex Katz, Ellsworth Kelly, and Joan Mitchell.
The auction continues with an array of American photography, including works from New England based artists. Our selection of Modern masters showcases works from Henri Cartier-Bresson, Ansel Adams, Berenice Abbott, Bill Brandt. Contemporary photographs are represented by Andy Warhol, Ernst Haas, Vik Muniz, and Johan Hagemeyer. Among the highlights of the sale is a NASA album comprised of twenty chromogenic prints commemorating the Apollo 11 moon landing.
