Three Mennonite Quilts, Waterloo County, Ontario, c. 1900-20, a "Log Cabin" quilt composed of strips of varying hues of red and darker colors forming a layered effect of alternating light and dark tones of log cabin blocks; an "Eight Point Star" quilt composed of red and yellow stars against a green background within a red border with yellow corners; and a "Log Cabin Courthouse Steps" quilt with blocks of red and blue tones within a deep blue border, approx. lg. to 78, wd. to 72 in.
Provenance: The red "Log Cabin" quilt is from the settlement of Wilmot Township; the blue "Log Cabin" quilt is from near Winterbourne and was made for Daniel Cressman.
