Brown/Red-painted Flat-top Wooden Works Tall Clock, probably Connecticut, late 18th century, the hood with glazed tombstone opening and white-painted wooden dial with a ship in the arch and floral spandrels, above a waist with rectangular door and base with tombstone panel, old surface, (imperfections and wear),ht. 77 1/4 in.
Provenance: Purchased from the Cook family. According to the consignor, this clock stood in the [Woodbridge] tavern at Manchester Green in Manchester, Connecticut, and was later moved to Lyman's Blacksmith Shop.
