N.B. Parts of the LM thermal panels buckled from the stresses of lift-off from the Moon, but the damage posed no risk to Young and Duke in their link-up with Casper. 'Going to the Moon is an extraordinary thing! It doesn't matter if you're first or last; it's extraordinary,' said Mattingly (quoted in Chaikin, Voices, p. 165).
