Watercolor Folk Portrait of Militia Cavalry Officer E. Doolittle on Horseback and Trunk, late 18th century, painted on laid paper, figure dressed in a blue coat with buff facings, wearing a chapeau bras hat and holding a saber, mounted on a spotted horse, inscribed "For E. Doolittle" at l.r., framed, with a hide-coverd truck in which the image was originally mounted, the lid initialed with brass tacks, "EHD," sheet ht. 5 1/4, wd. 9 in.
